About Me
Shevetta Washington, Author
Widow with a Purpose was birthed out of me when I became a Widow on
May 29, 2019 at the age of 44. I knew pretty quickly after my husband passed that God was shifting me into a ministry for Widow's.
He also led me to write a book "A Widow I Became Due to the Cruelty of Cancer but Victorious in Jesus". My mission is to share my testimony of how God's faithfulness has carried me through this difficult journey of Widowhood.
When we say our wedding vows "till death do us part", you expect it to happen one day when you are old and gray but not when you are 44. But God!! He knows our beginning and our ending, He is the author and finisher of our faith!
Widow with a Purpose wants to encourage other Widow's to get connected to the vine or stay connected to the vine which is Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. "John 15:5 (KJV) I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." If I was not connected to the vine/source (God) when my husband passed I would have been a complete and total mess; we were together
28 1/2 years strong and married 21 years.
Widow with a Purpose wants to encourage other Widow's to find their purpose.

Sis! I read the book yesterday. My God, well done. I was in tears and so full last night. This gift of a book helps one to appreciate everything and to fall in the arms of Jesus!! You are a blessing and I will be ordering a few more to give out. It has changed my thought process and what strength you have, Jesus!

Vetta, inspiring story of you and Vau's love for each other and the Lord.
Hey Shevetta, I got my book about a week ago. I opened it maybe an hour ago and I just finished it. Great testimony. I can't imagine the strength it took for you to write this. I am proud of you and the strength and grace that you show everyday! Thank you for sharing your story with the world. I am sure that it has helped someone who has experienced this type of loss, or who is going through a similar experience! May God continue to bless you and your family!
